Going into hospital can be scary. Especially for kids.
‘Superhero Hospital’ is a fun illustrated book created to help poorly kids in Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital remember their super powers.
We ran creative workshops with groups of young patients to come up with ideas and characters for the book. Then we took a creative brief to 25 emerging illustrators at Manchester Met University, and asked them to present book designs in their style.
We selected Kelly Lewis as our young illustrator for the project.
300 copies of the book were printed for children on the wards at RMCH.
The book was made available for limited edition sale, with each sale covering the printing costs to give a free copy to a poorly child on the wards at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
